Topic Research: Greek Mythology

I have decided to research Greek Mythology, and begin with stories within that topic. As pointed out to me on the last assignment, this topic has tons and tons of story ideas for me to research and learn about. I also think this topic would be really fun to make into my own stories as well. Story idea 1: Poseidon - Poseidon is Olympian god of the sea, earthquakes, floods, drought and horses. Poseidon also holds his famous trident, or three prong fishing spear. Poseidon is strong and powerful. I would like to do a story depicting him as a princess, instead of his "king" like character. She could be sweet, and dainty instead of powerful and strong. Instead of a trident, the main character could have a magical wand. Story Idea 2: Aergia - This God is described as "the female version of a sloth". This God was lazy, slow and idle. I think a fun story idea would be to depict her as an actual sloth. She could be in the rainforest, climbing slowly through the trees. Story...

Week 3 Story: The Creation of Fluffy and Roxy

When God created the heavens and the earth, he realized there was something important missing- inhabitants.  When God thought of all of the different creatures he could create to inhabit his beautiful creation, he decided he needed something lovable, that would appreciate all that he had done. What did he decide on you may ask? First- a fluffy puppy. God created this lovable, cheerful creature from the dirt, and he was very happy with his decision. God decided to create another being, this time from Fluffy himself. By taking one of sweet Fluffy's ribs, God created Roxy: a loving companion for Fluffy. God decided on the rib, after thoughts of many different options during creation. Why not the mouth? Some might ask. Because if created from the mouth, Roxy would spend her life barking at everything. Why not the paw? Because Roxy would spend her ...

Reading Notes: Week 3 Biblical

This story explains the mythology behind the creation of man and woman: Adam and Eve. But it takes it one step further- explaining why God made certain decisions during the creation, and the story behind characteristics and personality traits behind both man and woman. For example: God did not want to create Eve from Adam's heart, because it would cause Eve to be filled with envy. He did not want to create her from the hand, or she would steal; not from the ear or she would eavesdrop, etc, so God created Eve from the rib. But, it did not matter which part of the body Eve came from, because Eve brought sin into the world. Therefore, the women that came after her will inherently have envy, lie, eavesdrop, and steal.  Another difference between the creation of man and woman is that man was created from the ground, and woman from bone (essentially from man). This further explains differences between man and woman: the need for perfume, and the difference in voice and tone. Women'...
