Week 11 Story: The Evil Fish

  The Evil Fish. Once upon a time, 12 little fish lived in a big giant pond. These fish were very very small, smaller than most perch or bait fish. The fish were all very timid, and scared of the big pond. The big pond was also a family member of theirs: their grandmother. But, the grandmother pond was not only inhabited by the 12 little fish. She also was the home to six big huge, evil garfish. These fish were mean, and they always tried to eat the little fish. They would chase the little fish and scare them. They would back them into corners of the pond, and separate them from the group of 12.  The small fish had finally had enough. They begged their grandmother river to help them. She knew this would not be an easy task, as the garfish were surprisingly clever. But, she loved her grand-fish, and would do anything to help them. She racked her brain for an idea to outsmart the garfish, and save her baby fish, and finally came up with one. She called upon the clouds above her,...

Reading B: Grandmother River's Trick

  Pond with small and big fish. A group of small fish were in danger of being eaten by a long, skinny gar fish. They were in danger because the garfish could easily catch the small baby fish. The small fish tried to swim to safety, but the big garfish would catch them with it's long snout and eat them. The big gar fish were always on the hunt, searching day and night for little baby fish to feast on.  The small fish cried out to their grandmother, the river, to save them. The grandmother decided to play a trick on the big scary fish to save the little fish. She called upon the clouds to rain onto the river and scare the big fish.  The rain poured down, and the Grandmother river continued to grow. The garfish swam into the bushes that had overflown, looking for more food. It was time for the trick! She dried up the banks, so the garfish were stuck in their own pools. They were so angry and leap in the air trying to escape. But, she did not let them go because she had saved...
