Famous Last Words- Halfway Done!

Me trying not to get stressed the rest of the semester.

This week, we didn’t have readings, so I will base this off of last week. I think my reading went very well. I told myself I was going to work ahead so I wouldn’t be stressed this weekend, giving myself time to really pick my readings with a purpose, and take good notes. I did get a chance to read both sections, so I had more to write my own story off of.

As a journalism major, I feel like all I do is write! A lot of it jumbles in my head, but this week I know I wrote a story about a gorilla with powers, and I was also working on my capstone project outside of this class. I read two stories on the gorilla, and his adventures. I based my story mostly off of the second one, where God wanted to punish him because of his behavior, but God ended up realizing he really needed him there after all. My capstone project is on gender bias in the media. Obviously journalism and the media is something that I will end up in after school, so this was something that really sparked my interest and has been interesting to research and write about.

This semester has absolutely been my most busy semester yet. Although I am only in 12 hours of class, I am also doing about 12 hours of OU nightly, working in Ada one day, doing 9 hours of pom practice a week, and then games on top of that, and I also do private dance lessons. I have been trying to work ahead, and stay organized, but sometimes it has been piling up more than I am used to this semester. My classes are going really well, and I am enjoying them, I am just trying not to get too stressed about them!

Next week, I really hope to continue to stay on top of things. I have a busy week with classes and projects, but I am hoping I can work ahead in this class so I am not stressed.

Introduction- Haley Weger

Hi! I'm Haley Weger and I am a senior this year, graduating in May. I'm from a suburb of Houston, called Friendswood. My parents just bought a house on a small island near Galveston, so the next time I go home I will be living there. I am a Journalism major, on the broadcast track, with a minor in Human Relations. The best part about my major is that I am involved in our student-run newsroom through Gaylord, so I get real-life practice being on camera. I have the chance to learn all of the ropes and exactly how a real newsroom is run before I graduate! Outside of my classes and OU Nightly, I am also involved in greek life and the OU spirit program. Week 11 Story: The Evil Fish

The Evil Fish. Once upon a time, 12 little fish lived in a big giant pond. These fish were very very small, smaller than most perch or bait fish. The fish were all very timid, and scared of the big pond. The big pond was also a family member of theirs: their grandmother. But, the grandmother pond was not only inhabited by the 12 little fish. She also was the home to six big huge, evil garfish. These fish were mean, and they always tried to eat the little fish. They would chase the little fish and scare them. They would back them into corners of the pond, and separate them from the group of 12. The small fish had finally had enough. They begged their grandmother river to help them.
