Reading B: The Six Swans (end)

The King had a very mean mom who hated his wife. The mother did not think the queen was worthy. The queen had her first baby, and the mother marked the queen's mouth with blood and took the baby. She told the king that the queen was a cannibal. The king didn't believe it. The queen had another baby, and the mother did the same thing again. The king still didn't believe his mother. He said, "She is too tender and good to do any such thing, and if she were only not dumb and could justify herself, then her innocence would be as clear as day."

The third child was born, and the mother did the same thing again. This time, the queen couldn't say anything in her defense. The king had no choice but to give her up to justice and sentenced her to death by fire.

On the day she was sentenced to die, it was the last day of the 6 years she had not spoken or laughed to free her brothers from the evil spell. She prepared everything to break the spell, and cried out for the swans. The 6 swans came flying towards her, and she was so excited to see the end. She threw the shirts on the swans, and the swans turned into her brothers, completely unharmed.

She went to the queen and told him what happened. She explained how she couldn't speak, but his mother had made up the cruel rumor about her. She was reunited with the King, and his mother was bound to the stale on the pile of wood and burnt to ashes.

The king and the queen lived happily ever after with the 6 brothers.

Introduction- Haley Weger

Hi! I'm Haley Weger and I am a senior this year, graduating in May. I'm from a suburb of Houston, called Friendswood. My parents just bought a house on a small island near Galveston, so the next time I go home I will be living there. I am a Journalism major, on the broadcast track, with a minor in Human Relations. The best part about my major is that I am involved in our student-run newsroom through Gaylord, so I get real-life practice being on camera. I have the chance to learn all of the ropes and exactly how a real newsroom is run before I graduate! Outside of my classes and OU Nightly, I am also involved in greek life and the OU spirit program. I am starting my fourth year on the OU Pom Squad, and am also a member of Tri Delta. I also work at Ada High School on the side, teaching their pom squad. Right now my favorite TV shows I'm watching are Yellowstone and Ozark, but my all time favorites are New Girl and Friends. In the future, I would like to become a news or sport

Week 3 Story: The Creation of Fluffy and Roxy

When God created the heavens and the earth, he realized there was something important missing- inhabitants.  When God thought of all of the different creatures he could create to inhabit his beautiful creation, he decided he needed something lovable, that would appreciate all that he had done. What did he decide on you may ask? First- a fluffy puppy. God created this lovable, cheerful creature from the dirt, and he was very happy with his decision. God named this fluffy puppy what you can imagine: Fluffy. Soon enough, Fluffy became lonely, and bored with no other creatures to play with. God decided to create another being, this time from Fluffy himself. By taking one of sweet Fluffy's ribs, God created Roxy: a loving companion for Fluffy. God decided on the rib, after thoughts of many different options during creation. Why not the mouth? Some might ask. Because if created from the mouth, Roxy would spend her life barking at everything. Why not the paw? Because Roxy would spend her
